Blackberries, Milk, and Bread

I grew up like many others I am sure with what is one of my favorite Easter memories, the Easter Egg Hunt! It seems to be a thing of the past around here sadly.

So...my family and I have decided to host our 1st Annual Easter Egg Hunt Party. We have decided to theme this year's, Peter Rabbit. It has some of my favorite elements, classic literature and a vintage feel that you can really take a million different ways.

Can't wait to share as this mini celebration comes together.

Happy Birthday Savannah!

Believe it or not, yesterday was my daughter Savannah's 5th Birthday!
I really can't believe how the time flies....
...so in celebration, I am posting highlights from her 2nd Birthday Party - A Dr. Seuss inspired party since she and the Seuss share a day!
Enjoy! I am off to cater to the 3 five year olds at my house this mornging. Savannah had a sleepover with her buddies last night. :)

The Invitation - a little odd looking here since its a scanned version, BUT, it was Dr. Seuss scrapbook paper and I created the wording in Microsoft Publisher. Tied off the top with Red & Blue Ribbons, her party theme colors. When you lifted the words there was a wallet sized photo of Savannah from her Dr. Seuss photo shoot.

Here are a few outtakes from that. LOVED!

Fabulous Floral Pinata

(image courtesy Kate Landers Events, LLC.)

This past Saturday was the long awaited Vintage Silhouette Party for Savannah's 5th Birthday.
The pictures of the party will be coming to the blog very soon. :)

I tried my hand this party at creating a custom pinata. The amazing Kate Landers featured this tutuorial on her blog and I instantly knew it was the perfect look for the party.

It turned out to be a much easier process than I ever could have imagined and WELL worth the results!
I did change a few of the steps on making the tissue paper roses that seemed to make the process easier and quicker for myself by simply taking the tissue paper between 2 fingers to begin with and then wrapping around an additional finger each time I wrapped it.
It allowed for a more natural shape for my roses so keep it in mind if you decide to give it a try!
Can't wait to share the pictures of the rest of the party very, very soon!

Happy Valentines Day

We decided to do something a little different for Valentine's Day this year. I found these adorable Vintage Valentines printed on edible wafer paper at http://www.fancyflours.com/.

I decided to task my super talented husbnd with making some sugar cookies and putting these little treasures together. Its a bit of a process attaching the edible paper to the cookies but well worth the results. They end up looking like they are printed directly on the cookies. Jeff piped a vintage red border on them to finish them off.

I bought these clear bags at Micheals and had already purchased this adorable vintage valentines scrapbook paper at Hobby Lobby. Just cut out hearts and printed Happy Valentines Day on them, tied with bows to the top of the bags and a cute little Vintage Cookie Valentines were complete!
