Kate Landers Giveaway

I like many others have been nothing but inspired by the Classic Style of Kate Landers of Kate Landers Events, LLC. (http://katelandersevents.blogspot.com/). She has long been my favorite blog to follow. I would find myself from time to time just browsing Kate's website to simply window shop all the adorable party eye candy! From the party styling Kate has done to the adorable party products She created, it always managed to provide endless inspiration.

Fast Forward to last Fall and Layla Grace's amazing Party Planning Giveaway with the one and only Kate Landers. My heart skipped a beat just at the thought of winning such an amazing prize! For the entry you were asked to state the party theme you would like Kate's help creating. I of course, as I explained above, had already been inspired by Kate and decided on a Vintage Silhouette Theme for Savannah's 5th Birthday Party. Much to my shock and joy I was chosen as the winner! After freaking out and calling everyone I knew to share the news I began the amazing process of creating with Kate.

In the next post you'll see the results of the months of planning and hard work that go into creating one of Kate's party creations. Truly the most rewarding party experience I have had to date! I'll go into more detail in the party post but with the help of Kate's experience and knowledge I was able to complete nearly all of the ideas I set out to accomplish. A definate first and huge accomplishment for me!

Fabulous Floral Pinata

This past Saturday was the long awaited Vintage Silhouette Party for Savannah's 5th Birthday.

The pictures of the party will be coming to the blog very soon. :)

I tried my hand this party at creating a custom pinata. The amazing Kate Landers featured this tutuorial on her blog and I instantly knew it was the perfect look for the party.

It turned out to be a much easier process than I ever could have imagined and WELL worth the results!

I did change a few of the steps on making the tissue paper roses that seemed to make the process easier and quicker for myself by simply taking the tissue paper between 2 fingers to begin with and then wrapping around an additional finger each time I wrapped it.

It allowed for a more natural shape for my roses so keep it in mind if you decide to give it a try!

Sneak peak of the invites for Savannah's 5th Vintage Silhouette Party. :)

Items I Used:

Light Blue Paisley Scrapbook Paper

Blue Cardstock

White Vellum Paper

Ribbon

Doily

The Paisley served as the backdrop for the invitations. The blue Cardstock is what I used to print the party details on, and then I printed her Silhouette on the vellum. I tied them all together with a blue satin bow at the top.

I love how the vellum silhouette turned out, it allows touches of the invites to peek through.

The next step was to trim the tops and bottoms of the doily off so it would be the same shape as the invitations. I wrapped the cardstock invites with the doily and topped it off with a blue satin ribbon bow.

Doilies are going to be a huge theme with this Vintage Silhouette Party. Can't wait to share the next stages! :)
